Plan reports and exports to get results without unnecessary load.

How to work with limits and data volume
Limits protect a workspace and data source from excessively heavy queries and exports.
Start small
Build a report with one measure, one dimension, and a limited period. Expand the selection only after verifying the result.
Limit detail
Many dimensions, wide periods, and no filters increase result volume. Use a short period and a few key categories to test a hypothesis.
Plan exports and schedules
Before a large export, check row count and whether every column is needed. For regular delivery, match frequency to source refresh.
If a limit is reached
Simplify the query: reduce period, decrease fields, or split analysis into several reports. Do not try to bypass a limit with repeated identical queries.
Next step
Read exporting a report result to prepare a safe one-time export.
