How to work with notifications and alerts

Notifications communicate workspace events, while alerts help monitor predefined conditions in data.

Notifications

Review new notifications in the interface and open the related object to understand context. A summary notification does not replace reviewing the full report or dashboard.

Alerts

An alert should answer a specific question, such as “revenue is below a threshold”. Before enabling it, verify dataset, measure, filters, and check period.

Recipient safety

A notification or alert recipient must retain access to workspace and data. Do not send restricted information through a shared channel.

If a notification does not arrive

Check object state, alert conditions, and recipient access. Give an administrator the expected event time and object name.
